W. Daniel (Dan) Edge
W. Daniel (Dan) Edge, head of the OSU Department of Fisheries and Wildlife and professor of watchable wildlife. He received a Ph.D in forestry in 1985, M.S. in wildlife biology in 1982, B.S. in forestry and B.S. in wildlife biology in 1979, all from the University of Montana . He joined the OSU faculty in 1989. His primary research interests are the impacts of forestry and agricultural practices on watchable wildlife communities.

Stephen D. Hobbs
Stephen D. Hobbs, associate dean of research, OSU College of Forestry and professor of forest science, is facilitating the work of the Watersheds Research Cooperative. He received a Ph.D. from the University of Idaho in forestry science (emphasis ecology) in 1977 and B.S. from the University of New Hampshire in forest management in 1969. His research interests include collaborative and integrated research.

Thomas Maness
Thomas Maness is the department head for the Forest Engineering, Resources, and Management department at OSU. He received a Ph.D. in Forest Economics from University of Washington in 1989, a M.S. in Forest Operations from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1981, and a B.S.F. in Forest Resources Management from West Virginia University in 1979. His research has spanned three broad categories: (i) strategic land-use planning and forest tenure policy, (ii) value chain optimization and (iii) energy and climate policy. In addition to his academic accomplishments, Dr. Maness has forestry industry experience in the Pacific Northwest as a project engineer and software developer.

Brenda McComb
Brenda McComb is the department head for the Forest Ecosystems and Society department and a professor in Forest and Wildlife Ecology at OSU. She received a Ph.D. from Louisiana State University in 1979, a M.S. from University of Connecticut in 1976, and a B.S. from University of Connecticut in 1974. Her research interests include the effects of land management practices on the abundance and distribution of vertebrates as a result of habitat change.

Hal Salwasser
Hal Salwasser is dean of the College of Forestry and professor of the Department of Forest Resources. He received a Ph.D. in wildlife resource science in 1979 from the University of California at Berkeley, and B.A. in biology in 1971 from California State University , Fresno . He became dean of the College of Forestry in 2000 after a career with the U.S. Forest Service where his most recent position was director of the Pacific Southwest Research Station in Berkeley , CA , where he guided research and development by scientists in California , Hawaii and the Pacific Islands .

Arne Skaugset
Arne Skaugset , associate professor in the OSU Forest Engineering, Resources, and Management Department, directs the Watersheds Research Cooperative and is the principal investigator on water quality and hydrology on the Hinkle Creek Paired Watershed Study. In addition to the Hinkle Creek Study, he leads research efforts in the hydrology of forest roads and roaded watersheds, alternative design and environmental performance of aggregate surfaced forest roads,and slope stability. He received a Ph.D. in forest hydrology in 1997, B.S. in Civil Engineering in 1992, M.S. in forest hydrology in 1980 from OSU and B.S. civil engineering in 1977 from Colorado State University . His research interests revolve on finding pragmatic, applied solutions to environmental problems that result from the intensive management of forested terrain.

Steven Tesch
Steven Tesch, Executive Associate Dean and Associate Director of the Forest Research Laboratory at the OSU College of Forestry, handles the administrative leadership for the Watersheds Research Cooperative. He received a Ph.D. in 1981, M.S. in 1975 and B.S. in 1973 from the University of Montana . His research interests are in silviculture-harvesting interactions; ecology and management of mixed conifer forests and harsh site reforestation.
